About the client:
Our client was established in 1964 as the residing country’s first commercial bank and has steadily grown to be the largest financial institution in the Middle East and Africa region. In addition, the Bank is establishing a foothold in highly competitive markets, including Hong Kong, where the Group opened recently its first branch.
Through its subsidiaries and associate companies, the Group extends to more than 31 countries across three continents providing a comprehensive range of advanced products and services. The total number of employees is 28,000 serving approximately 20 million customers operating through 1,000 locations, with an ATM network of more than 4,600 machines.
What business challenge were they experiencing?
The national bank wanted to upskill and develop the skillset of their high-potential junior level national employees that showcased the potential to be future managers and leaders. Therefore, they were for a training solution that would:
Offer the right blend of technical insight, behavioral intelligence and an insight into the banking industry
Tailored around key finance and business competencies required to succeed in leadership positions
Develop a strong understanding of banking products and other banking skills relevant to the fast-paced digital banking industry
What solution did Kaplan Professional ME provide?
We developed a 10-month training program of 7 weeks that include pre and post-assessments, diagnostics, business simulations, and training sessions that helped identify the key focus areas and opportunities for growth among the employees.
With the 1-to-1 coaching sessions, our goal was to improve their leadership skills by firstly focusing on their self-awareness and emotional intelligence, which in turn would optimize their professional expertise and business performance. A dedicated Kaplan program manager was also provided to ensure all participants felt safe to voice out their opinions and practice in a supportive context.

How did Kaplan Professional ME work with the client to develop the solution?
We worked alongside the company experts on the design of the program to develop learning journeys, program modules, and course content based on the training needs analysis. This ensured the learning objectives set focused equally on their personal development as well as preparing them with the knowledge to strategize and implement key banking decisions.
